Anti-wrinkle injections

• The world of Botox can be daunting. When we hear the words Botox, we all can picture a celebrity that has taken it too far. Don’t worry! Not all Botox has to look like that. If you are new to Botox or a frequent Botox user here at Teddy Grace we can help you find the right Botox match. Botox is primarily used to help reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, something we all want to prevent, making us stay looking young for as long as possible. The most popular areas people have Botox injected are the forehead, frown area and crow’s feet (wrinkles round the eyes). This does not mean these are the only places you can have Botox, we are here to help fix your insecurities.

Botox is used to block signals from the nerve to the muscles. Sounds confusing? So how does that stop wrinkles? Well, when the muscles are injected, it can no longer contract (paralysing the muscle), meaning wrinkles relax and soften providing great results. Botox is the most popular cosmetic procedure nationwide; we all want to look like a Real Housewife, right? 

The effects of these anti-wrinkle injections (Botox) are temporary, lasting 3-6 months depending on the treatment you are looking for, this can be discussed in a consultation. 

How is Botox carried out? 

Getting Botox is fast treatment and relatively pain free, you can be in and out to enjoy the rest of your day within the hour. Feeling on top of the world leaving the salon, knowing you have just had fresh Botox ready for it to take full effect. Unfortunately, with Botox you don’t always see the results straight away, but don’t panic after 72 hours you will start to see it working, in very rare cases it can take up to 5 days to see the full effects (I guess we have just got to get good at being patient). After 3-6 months you may start to notice movement in your muscles, but not to worry just give us a call and we can make you an appointment for a top up as soon as possible. 

After Botox?

 We won’t lie to you. You want the truth, don’t you? Sometimes there can be temporary side effect to getting Botox injections. But these will not last and are rare! 

• Bruising (this is the most common side effect and will go within a day)
• Headaches 
• Mild swelling

Aftercare

 There are some rules we want you to follow after your Botox treatment – 

• Relax for the rest of the day (your welcome) 
• Avoid touching, rubbing, or putting pressure in the treated area 
• Don’t go into any sauna, hot tubs or sunbeds for at least 24 hours 
• Stay off the wine (just for 24 hours don’t worry)
• Don’t sleep face down
