Why is Olaplex so popular?
So… I think it’s safe to assume that the far majority of us have heard about Olaplex by now. It’s made huge leaps in the industry since its launch in 2014, it boasts a patented formula that repairs, rebuilds and restores broken hair bonds. They initially launched their in-salon range (No1-3) but now the company has released many home hair care products.
So what does this actually mean?
Think of the hair shaft like a ladder, the bonds of the hair are the bit of the ladder that you step on. When hair is coloured, lightened, or heat damaged the steps of the ladder (the bonds) begin to break down. Olaplex contains disulfide bonds giving the hair structure and stability, resulting in healthy and shiny locks!
Here’s a list of the Olaplex at-home range.
- No.3 – Hair perfector is a treatment that reduces breakage and restores your hair’s health. Great when paired with the in-salon No.1 & 2
- No.4 & No.5 – Bond maintenance shampoo and conditioner protects from frizz and breakage. Safe to use on coloured hair.
- No.6 – Bond smoother has a cream-like texture, to be used on wet hair after washing. You need the smallest amount for the best results. It leaves hair feeling silky smooth with an incredible shine, more manageable and less frizz. (My all-time favourite product)
- No.7 – Bonding oil works by ridding you of those annoying flyaways, increasing shine and protects you against UV/Heat damage.
- No.8 – Bond intense moisture mask has the bond-building technology that Olaplex is known and loved for. It adds moisture to treat dry and damaged hair.
At Teddy Grace hair and beauty salon we can add No.1 and 2 into your colour service or as a stand-alone treatment. We’re all about happy, healthy hair that shines. We can also order you in any of the at-home range so you can maintain your healthy hair!
